Siouxsie & The Banshees to issue live 'Seven Year Itch' CD/DVD on July 22
by Anonymous

Since their inception in 1976, Siouxsie and The Banshees have become seminal leaders of the punk and techno/dance movements -- in both music as well as fashion. After being together for over 20 years, the London-based band reunited last year after a lengthy absence, much to the joy of their legion of worldwide fans. Siouxsie and The Banshees' pioneering work is captured on this highly anticipated live CD and DVD Seven Year Itch, scheduled for separate release on Sanctuary Records on July 22, 2003.

The CD and DVD feature a slightly different track listing, making both collectible. The DVD is mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, Dolby Digital 2.0 and DTS Surround Sound and includes exclusive behind-the-scenes bonus footage.

Vocalist Siouxsie Sioux, lead guitarist Chandler Knox, bass guitarist Steve Severin and drummer Budgie filmed and recorded Seven Year Itch during two performances in the summer of 2002 at Shepherd's Bush Empire in London. The title reflects the length of time it had been since the band had played in its native England. Between April and August 2002, the band performed for sellout crowds in North America, Central America, Japan and Europe.

In addition to hits like "Peek-A-Boo,” Seven Year Itch includes rare B-sides such as "Lullaby" and "I Could Be Again," as well as a version of George Harrison's "Blue Jay Way" in tribute to the late Beatles guitarist.

The track listing for the CD and DVD is as follows:

Siouxsie and The Banshees' punk/new wave/goth/alternative pedigree has always been simply amazing. Leading the way as trendsetters, the band is also responsible for introducing the world to artists who would go on to future notoriety. Early versions of the band include Sex Pistols bass guitarist Sid Vicious, The Cure vocalist/guitarist Robert Smith and Adam and The Ants guitarist Marco Pirroni. For several years while working on Siouxsie and The Banshees projects, the husband-and-wife team of Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie also recorded and toured as The Creatures.

The Seven Year Itch CD and DVD are a perfect tribute to the ahead-of-their-time vision of Siouxsie and The Banshees.
